The Church of the Divine Love

Carriage House Thrift Shop

The Episcopal Church of The Divine Love, God bless it, has many traditions, and one that is very much appreciated at The Divine Love is our Thrift Shop. I’m sure when we all go to the Big Episcopal Church in the Sky; there will be a heavenly Shop for slightly used wings. Our Shop came into being 50 odd years ago when money was a real concern. It was started by The Women’s Group and was a success from the beginning. Dedicated, extremely hard working women loved the Shop, and to them all our Church owes a great debt.

Just accept donations of clothing, toys, tools, small furniture, paintings, jewelry, kitchenware, Christmas decorations, etc., etc. Sort it all out; put a price on each item and try to find a place to display it. Deal with the customers and at the end of the day, count the money, tidy up, and repeat, every Thursday and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.

The Shop contributes a good sum to the Church budget every year, and of course benefits the surrounding community as a source of very inexpensive clothing and just about anything else you might need. The Shop offers its workers no real tangible benefits, just the satisfaction of a job well done, and some laughs along the way, but God continues to find us willing helpers.

Donations are accepted during business hours, Thursday and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm; please no bedding or books.
